You'll work directly with professional makeup artist De Shawn LaFaye to learn how to do your own makeup using techniques personalized to your face, features, products, lifestyle, and skill level.

What is a DL Effect Makeup Mastery Consultation?

A private, 90-minute makeup learning experience with professional award-winning Hollywood makeup artist De Shawn LaFaye.

Bring your makeup bag, your questions, and anything about your makeup routine that has been giving you trouble. We’ll work together to help you understand what works for your face and how to recreate it yourself.

Do I need to know how to do makeup before I come?

Not at all.

You can be completely new to makeup, comfortable with the basics, or someone who has worn makeup for years but feels like your old routine no longer works for you.

We start with where you are.

What should I bring?

Bring your makeup bag and the products and tools you normally use.

If you have photos of makeup looks you love, bring those too. They can help us understand the look you want to learn.

How long is the consultation?

Your private Makeup Mastery Consultation is 90 minutes.

That gives us time to look at your current routine, answer your questions, work through your products, and focus on the techniques you want to learn.

Where are consultations held?

DL Effect Makeup Mastery Consultations are held at Haven Salon Studios in West Little Rock, Arkansas.

You’ll receive the information you need for your visit when you book.

Can you help me figure out which products are right for me?

Yes.

We’ll look at what you already own first. We can identify what works, what may not be serving you, and what might actually be missing from your routine.

The goal is not to send you shopping for an entirely new makeup bag. It’s to help you understand what works for you.

What if I have a ton of makeup but still don't know what to use?

Bring it!

If Sephora, Ulta, social media, beauty counters, and endless product choices have left you with a makeup bag full of products and more questions than answers, we can sort through it together.

Can you teach makeup for mature skin?

Absolutely.

Skin changes, and sometimes our makeup needs to change with it. We can work with your skin as it is today and explore products, textures, placement, coverage, and application techniques that create the finish you want.

Can you help me create an everyday makeup routine?

Yes.

If you want a clean, fresh, polished look that you can realistically recreate, we can build your consultation around that.

Your routine should make sense for your life.

What if I have one specific makeup problem?

Bring that too.

Will you just do my makeup for me?

No. This is Makeup Mastery.

We’ll work through the application together so you understand what you're doing, how to do it, and why it works.

The beautiful makeup is nice. Knowing how to recreate it when you get home is the point.

This is especially useful when your regular makeup artist won't be traveling with you.

Can you help me figure out what makeup to pack for a trip?

Yes.

Once you know which products work together, you can pack intentionally instead of taking half the bathroom with you.
